Dandelion Fluff Universe Abstract

Description

I set out on my hike, eager to find the perfect dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) photograph. The meadow was alive with the sound of birds chirping, a distant stream, and the gentle rustle of the wind in the tall grass. The smell of wildflowers and pine filled my nose as I walked along. I knew it would be a challenge to find a dandelion that was still in the process of seeding, as they are not only hated but also often disturbed by hikers and picked by people. As I walked further into the meadow, I could see that most of the dandelions had already seeded, were half-blown away, and ratty looking. I had to look for a spot that was partially protected from the wind and hikers, and after a while, I finally found a small patch of dandelions that seemed to be untouched. I looked closer and saw one round globe glistening in the sun! It was perfect and I felt a sense of triumph. I grabbed my camera and took several shots at different angles. As I walked back to my car, I couldn’t help but think about the plight of the dandelions, and how they are often overlooked and mistreated. All they want to do is survive. They are tough, resilient plants. They may be hated, but they’re also beautiful, edible, and good for the soil. Sometimes, the things we take for granted are very important. They play an important role in our ecosystem. I returned home with my artistic dandelion photograph, and a newfound respect for these often-overlooked wildflowers.
